Bird facts:
The Nene Hawaiian Goose is the state bird of Hawaii. It is threated because of predators. In the 20th century, there were less than 30 birds in the world. Hawaiian Geese don't fly very much so their easy targets. But there are becoming more birds to help save the goose. Now, there are 25,000 in the world.
Please help by using this pic. to put on some items to help save the species.
The 'I'iwi (Ee-ew-ee) is a native bird from Hawaii. Also known as Scarlet Honeycreepers, the ancient Hawaiians called it the 'I'iwi which translates to scarlet colored. They drink nectar from flowers. But sadly, when Europeans arrived in Hawaii, they brought invasive speices like mosquitos. The mosquitos gave the birds diseases. They are not native to Hawaii so the birds never adapted to the deadly bugs. That's why 'I'iwis are threatened today.
Use this photo to put on to stuff like T-shirts, mugs, and more to get people to want to save it.
